About Us

Africans in Distress Care Trust (ADICT) is a national non- governmental and non-profit making organization established in 2002 and incorporated in 2005. Our mission is to promote health, education, care and support for the well-being of the girl-child out of school, women and children in the rural communities through the provision of food, medical care, advocacy, capacity building, provision of micro credit scheme and sustainable development projects. ADICT is a National NGO with a passion for humanitarian work and operates in all the 36 states of the Nigeria Federation including FCT area

Women & children Support

Ensuring that children and their mothers have access to healthy nutrition services and develop innovative strategies to deliver these services most effectively especially in the rural poor communities.

Maternal Reproductive Healthcare

Upgrading the existing public health care services, rehabilitation of dilapidated health clinic and equipping with medical/ administrative equipment. We raise awareness about ways to prevent new infection and adopt healthy practices and providing care and support for girl-child, children and families affected by HIV/AIDS.

Support For Education

We are raising literacy rates by providing basic education and helping to equip schools and teachers in poor communities. Advocating for girl-child education by granting scholarships and the absorption of orphans in our sister Nursery/Primary school including training and vocational centres for drop out student

 

ADICT's Projects

ADICT ensures that children and their mothers have access to healthy nutrition services and develop innovative strategies to deliver these services most effectively especially in the rural poor communities.

  • Giving orphans and vulnerable children the needed medical care and attention which helps them to learn well (helped 42 OVC with the needed assistance for care and support).
  • Provide good education, clothing and feeding for poor families.
  • Sexual reproductive health care and family planning training for Women.
  • Work with vulnerable families to help them pay for basic needs and services for their children and provide them with access to sufficient nutritious food in life.

We are supporting federal and state governments in Nigeria to make sustainable improvements in basic education services as part of the Education Sector Support Programme in Nigeria. Our EduSupport programs are the followings:

  • Raising literacy rates by providing basic education and helping to equip schools and teachers in poor communities.

  • Absorbing orphans in our sister Nursery/Primary school.
  • Training and vocational centres for drop out student.
  • Construction of school blocks and rehabilitation of dilapidated school blocks.
  • Provision of desk, tables and school uniforms.
  • Construction and equipping of modern libraries.
  • Provision of bore hole.

ADICT’s maternal healthcare is established and aimed at providing services that will improve maternal and child health across the 36 states of Nigeria. The program include the followings:
